Latest survey of the UK organics recycling industry for WRAP

In February and March of this year Urban Mines is delivering a survey for WRAP to generate estim ... read more

WRAP is funding the survey and will be working with industry groups (AfOR, REA, ADBA and ESA).

The contractor conducting the survey on WRAP’s behalf this year is Urban Mines, who will be working with Walker Resource Management to engage with site operators.

Following a pilot of the approach last year, we will be using the operator returns supplied to the various environment agencies in order to reduce the amount of information requested of operators – and therefore the length of the survey interviews.

WRAP would like to encourage all operators of registered/permitted organics recycling sites and also sites operating under the relevant exemptions, to take the time to participate in this survey.

If you would like to participate, please email info@urbanmines.co.uk  and if you have any queries please call Jill Sykes at Urban Mines on 01274 699400.

Please take this opportunity to have your say about the way in which this industry is developing.

New case studies show emerging resource efficiency in carpets

Carpet Recycling UK (CRUK) and WRAP are producing a series of case studies documenting resource efficiency in carpet manufacture, use and refurbishment. The case studies explore innovative measures such as minimising product weight, using recycled content in the pile fibre as well as backing, reducing production waste, offering take back for re-use and recycling, and designing products which don't require adhesives, thereby extending product life and re-use potential.
